The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) launched a centrally-sponsored scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME), on June 29, 2020.
The PM FME scheme aims to empower, upgrade, and formalise the existing Micro Food Processing Enterprises (MFPEs) in the unorganised segment of the food processing industry by providing financial, technical, and business support.
In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, this scheme endeavours to provide a national market for local and regional products, generate employment, and bring economic stability to the people.
The MoFPI and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (Nafed) have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) wherein Nafed is leveraging its branding and marketing expertise to develop new brands and products as part of the PM FME scheme.
The PM FME scheme has adopted the One District One Product (ODOP) concept to focus on developing specific product categories for each district in India.
Amla constitutes the ODOP category for Gurugram district of Haryana. Amrit Phal is the brand created by Nafed for MoFPI under the PM FME scheme for developing and marketing amla-based products from Gurugram.
Considered a sacred fruit, Amla for centuries has been valued for its therapeutic properties that help revitalise the mind, the body, and the soul. The versatile amla can be consumed raw or cooked; processed into a pickle or a murabba; used as a medicine; and, utilised as an ingredient in haircare and beauty products.

Amrit Phal ODOP products (Amla Juice and Chatpata Dried Amla) are manufactured in MFPEs located in the Gurugram district of Haryana. Choicest ingredients are directly procured from the farmers and processed by local MFPEs. It enables them to better their income and generate more employment. It therefore becomes instrumental in helping realise our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Nafed focuses on creating and marketing premium quality products that promote health and holistic wellness.
The following MFPEs, located in Gurugram district, were selected for manufacturing Amrit Phal products under the ODOP initiative. This initiative is generating greater business opportunities for the micro enterprises and providing them a much-needed access to the national market.
Located in the Gurugram district of Haryana, Alohya Agrotech was founded in 2018 by Ms. Harshita Goyal. It is engaged in manufacturing natural and organic food as well as personal care products. The company also provides services and solutions related to agriculture land development and allied services. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Amrit Phal product range, the micro enterprise is engaged in producing a range of organic herbal juices, tea, coffee, foods, herbs, vegetables, natural cosmetics, and a so on.
Located in the Gurugram district of Haryana, Sattvic Products and Services Pvt. Ltd. was founded in 2019. The micro enterprise is thriving under the leadership of its Directors-Mr Ashish Paul, Ms Omita Paul, and Mr K G Wankhede. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Amrit Phal product range, the micro enterprise also produces quality items like Amla Juice, Amla Candies, Aloe vera Juice and Mustard Oil.
Farm Natural Produce is a micro enterprise located in the Gurugram district of Haryana. The enterprise was established by Mr. Rajneesh Chawla in May 2014. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Amrit Phal product range, Farm Natural Produce is engaged in the processing a variety of organic products. Its product portfolio includes a range of organic foods; cold pressed and organic oils; natural and flavoured honey; cow milk ghee; and herbal juices.
Herbal Swadeshi, a micro enterprise located in the Gurugram district of Haryana, was founded in 2012 by Ms Usha Rani. Along with manufacturing the ODOP Amrit Phal product range, the micro enterprise also manufactures a variety of organic food products, natural skin care products, herbal supplements, and herbal tea.
