The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) launched a centrally-sponsored scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME), on June 29, 2020.
The PM FME scheme aims to empower, upgrade, and formalise the existing Micro Food Processing Enterprises (MFPEs) in the unorganised segment of the food processing industry by providing financial, technical, and business support.
In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat, this scheme endeavours to provide a national market for local and regional products, generate employment, and bring economic stability to the people.
The MoFPI and National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (Nafed) have entered a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) wherein Nafed is leveraging its branding and marketing expertise to develop new brands and products as part of the PM FME scheme.
The PM FME scheme has adopted the One District One Product (ODOP) concept to focus on developing specific product categories for each district in India.
Coriander constitutes the ODOP category for Kota district of Rajasthan. Cori Gold is the brand created by Nafed for MoFPI under the PM FME scheme for developing and marketing coriander and coriander-based products from Kota.
Coriander is extensively used both as a herb and a spice to flavour a variety of foods in different cuisines across the world. Known as Dhania in India, its seeds and powder are key ingredients used in preparing a variety of dry or gravy-based dishes, spice blends, zesty chaats, namkeens and savoury snacks. Its leaves are used for making sumptuous chutneys, adding a fresh flavour to a dish or simply as a garnish.
Coriander Powder
Cori Gold Coriander powder, an aromatic culinary spice, is made with premium coriander seeds cultivated in Kota, Rajasthan. It imparts a delectable flavour and a rich hue to each dish it is added to. Coriander powder is considered a powerhouse of essential nutrients and vitamins that are essential to promote health and wellness.
Chaat Masala
A classic recipe, Cori Gold Chaat Masala is made with premium quality coriander seeds and select spices. It is low in salt, which makes it a healthier option. Sprinkle it liberally on your chaat-pakoras, salads, fruits, snacks, or anything you can imagine, to savour its delightful spicy, tangy, sweet, and salty flavour explosion.

Cori Gold ODOP products (Coriander Powder and Chaat Masala) are manufactured in MFPEs located in the Kota district of Rajasthan. Choicest ingredients are directly procured from the farmers and processed by local MFPEs. It enables them to better their income and generate more employment. It therefore becomes instrumental in helping realise our Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat. Nafed focuses on creating and marketing premium quality products that promote health and holistic wellness.
The following MFPEs, located in Kota district, were selected for manufacturing Cori Gold products under the ODOP initiative. This initiative is generating greater business opportunities for the micro enterprises and providing them a much-needed access to the national market.
Kusum Agrotech, Kota (Rajasthan) was founded in 2018 by Mr. Lokesh Agarwal. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Cori Gold product range, the company procures seasonal crop produce as well as deals in whole coriander, mustard, soyabean, and wheat.
Ranjana Agro Industries, Kota (Rajasthan) was founded in 2019 by Mr Manoj Kumar Meena. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Cori Gold product range, the company specialises in the processing a variety of spices, and manufacturing myriad spice blends, and chutneys.
Natural Herbal Cosmetic And Foods, Kota (Rajasthan) was founded in 2016 by Mr Mukesh Vyas. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Cori Gold product range, the micro enterprise manufactures a premium assortment of spices and flours like red chilli powder, soyabean flour, diabetic flour, multigrain flour, and cornflour. They also manufacture a range of natural herbal cosmetics.
Goyenda Enterprises, Kota (Rajasthan) was founded in 2017 by Mr Devendra Singh. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Cori Gold product range, the company is engaged in the processing spices like red chilli and turmeric.
Manan Industries, Kota (Rajasthan) was founded in 2005 by Ms. Rashi Mittal. In addition to manufacturing the ODOP Cori Gold product range, the micro enterprise processes a variety of high-quality spices and spice-based products.
